Raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats and Enjoying a Semi Self-Sufficient Lifestyle

                                                                     MORE DOES

WOW!!! We have once again been blessed! We have been given the opportunity to purchase two doelings from Old Mountain Farm- it happened so fast my head is still spinning. I want to thank Cheryle and Wyl for allowing us this opportunity. These doelings will be bred to our new buckling from PromiseLand for 2010 kids.

Old Mountain Farm Saffron- aka "Saffie" Born- 2/02/09

 Gold and White Pinto

"Saffie" has a pedigree that explodes with some of the best NDG lineage that's available. It is just amazing and I'm thrilled to get these bloodlines here at our farm. She is so beautiful, so long, so level, and very dairy. She has a long elegant neck, great legs and stands straight up on her toes. She has high, sharp withers and an awesome personality to boot. Her Dam has an awesome show and milk record. We are really looking forward to seeing how she matures. We're  hoping she'll make an outstanding show prospect.

Saffron is gorgeous- long bodied and level, long back, straight legs with good rear angulation, sharp withers, flat bone- She's got it all!!!

Old Mountain Farm Storm Brew'n  aka- "Stormy"   Born- 1/22/09

Black and Gold Chamoisee with Moon Spots

Stormy is a beautiful doe that is very correct in every way. She is very level, long-necked, a beautiful head and great legs....We're hoping she'll get an udder like her dam as her breeder told us that Stormy's dam has one of the best mammary systems she's ever milked. Her markings are very unique in that she has a large chocolate moonspot on her rump and a tan one on her back, just behind her shoulders. She fears nothing and when others get a bit nervous over a  loud noise she remains very calm and laid back. She has a loving and gentle disposition and is always ready to climb into my lap. I have high hopes for this little gal.. She is my favorite sweetie in the herd- even though I don't have favorites!

We want to thank Pholia Farm for allowing us to purchase Freya. She is bred to "Pholia Farm KM Copperfield". I hear that his pictures do not do him justice and that he's gorgeous and super long. Freya kidded with 2 gorgeous kids and her bag looks marvelous! I love the length, width, and depth of this doe. Her legs are so straight. I was going to shave her but she has sleeked out and is so beautiful, I just love this doe so much- Thank you again Pholia Farm for Freya and the use of your site and picture info.

           New Pics coming!!!!

Dance is, well- she's just awesome! She's beautiful, very feminine and very dairy. She is very long and level, I love that when looking at a goat! She has a beautiful long neck, tight front end and nice straight legs. Though her milk expresses very easily, I would like her teats to be a little longer, but they're not bad either. She's only 18" tall and has a very sweet personality. She also enjoys getting milked.  We have grown to love Dance, she is absolutely one of the sweetest does I've ever had.

Nova is a beautiful little doe with great bloodlines. She brings together the likes of Twin Creeks, Gay-Mor and Goodwood for a nicely put together doe. She is small in stature, long and level, nice angulation, flat bone, and long graceful neck. Her mammary system is well attached. She milks wonderfully and has the sweetest disposition and seems very eager to please. We fell in love with her the minute we saw her and the more I look at her the prettier she seems to get. She's very feminine. We wish to thank Grant Johnson, a 4H/FFA member whose family owns Sunny Prairie Farm in Rainier, WA. Thank you again Grant for your pictures-wish you luck in zoology!!!!

Prairie Wood PB Gypsy In Blue aka "Gypsy"  Birthdate- April 1, 2008   Reg. AGS -SOLD

White with brown and grey spots/ blue eyes

Gypsy has the most gorgeous crystal blue eyes.  She is a bit skittish and has been since she lived with her previous owner. She has now bonded with the herd and will eat out of my hand now.. I would like to say more nice things about Gypsy as she is so pretty without her winter wooly mammoth coat. She would make someone a great brood doe who is into Nigerians for the blue eyes. I would like to see tighter shoulders on her, but usually all goats have at least one area that needs more work than others.

Buttercup is a nice little doe with a long, level back, sharp withers, nice straight legs with a great disposition. She's has nice bloodlines behind her. I am excited to see what her udder is like once she kids...I am really happy with her all the way around. She delivered quads on Christmas morn around 3 am. She lost 2 to the freezing temps and I brought the other 2 in and bottle fed them her milk. Ten days later I decided to put the kids on her while she was in the stanchion, I didn't have to put them on a bottle again- she took them right back. That was amazing -I had never seen anything like that before.  Buttercup is a very mellow doe with a sweetheart personality.
